The key travels with the chart
A diagram is useful only when its reader knows what the marks mean. The exports include a key for every stitch code used, the selected US terminology and the input/output unit definitions. Starting chains and joins have separate explanations. Editor marks such as the explicit skip square should be read from this key rather than assumed to match every publisher’s notation.
Row colors help distinguish adjacent rows but do not encode different stitch types or yarn colors. The actual stitch code and geometry carry the meaning. If a design requires colorwork instructions, describe them separately; this editor does not turn row ink into a yarn-change plan.
Choose vector files for flexible viewing
SVG keeps lines, curves and text scalable in a single document containing the chart and key. You can zoom without the fixed pixel limit of a screenshot. Text uses a standard sans-serif family and can vary slightly across viewers, while the authored stitch paths retain their geometry. The SVG contains no imported scripts, links or external images.
PDF uses real vector drawing commands and a standard PDF font. It supplies a complete overview first. When the overview would shrink the chart below the readability threshold, additional detail tiles retain the native symbol scale. Those pages overlap by thirty-two points to help readers follow content near a page boundary. The count/key pages are always included.
Save the editable source and verify the intended use
The project JSON retains stitch sequences, layout, direction, colors and counting settings. Import it later to continue editing. The ZIP bundles that source with the vector files, count report and working-order sequence text. The text is a sequence record, not a finished commercial crochet pattern with yarn, hook, gauge, assembly and finishing instructions.
After any edit, use Prepare edited exports in the editor. Initial result downloads remain the chart that first created that editing session. Inspect the final key and ledger, print a representative detail page if needed, and test the actual crochet construction before sharing the chart as instructions.
